Crime, racism or homophobia a neutral circumstance?

I was trying to explain the model to a friend of mine and while she understood the basics she was challenging me on deeper and bigger issues such as crime, child abuse or systemic racism, and homophobia.

While I can see and explained how an abuse victim would use the model to end their suffering (and their negative thinking around the events), her arguments were that you wouldn’t tell a 12-year-old abuse victim that their circumstance is neutral and that their thoughts were attracting abuse. Or a black personality systemically disadvantaged by racism that it’s merely their thoughts creating their results.

I have faith in the model so I wonder are there any resources on how you work the model on these issues?
