Rate of weight loss

Hi Brooke,
I love all of this content so much! Since Feb 20, I have lost 20.6 pounds, an average of nearly 3 pounds per week, through 5:2 intermittent fasting plus elimination of sugar/flour/alcohol. I am so happy about my progress and eager to keep going (I have 27 more pounds to go!).

A friend is telling me that my rate of weight loss is way too fast and that I am losing muscle, not fat. I’m doing some moderate strength building four times a week to support a sore knee (think physical therapy, not weight training). Other than that, I am not focusing on exercise for weight loss.

What do you say to the “wisdom” that losing more than 2 pounds/week is unhealthy? Does my rate of loss point to a problem?
