Why we do the work

Hi coaches,

I’d love your perspective on coaching. My understanding is people, myself included, come to coaching wanting to change something in their life, and/or to feel better.

We are taught the model and how we are creating our experience with our thoughts, which we are also taught are optional and we can choose more helpful thoughts that create different experiences through the model.

But if life is 50 / 50 anyway and circumstances don’t cause our feelings, why would we do it?

For example, why would someone work toward a weight loss or business goal if they will continue to feel 50% negative emotion, regardless of their results?

What about feeling ‘nicer’ more than 50% instead, regardless of the C’s in our life?
