Appropriate strategy for 5-year-old to 12-year-old kids

I create resources for primary school kids (aged 7 years – 12 years) to be used in the classroom for emotional intelligence. Reset Areas support young children to name their feeling/emotion then use a healthy age-appropriate strategy in the classroom to help themselves feel calm, ready to learn and get on with others.

Prior to learning about the model, the majority of my resources were focused on identifying the feeling/emotion and then using calming strategies to feel calmer and ready to learn. I have missed the allowing the emotion part, is it important to add this into every strategy?
