Are you for sale?

I was listening to the 1/27 Stop Underearning Call.
Someone was getting coached on the thought that it was easy to sell 100mil in software, but when it came to selling herself it was hard.
Brook asked if she was actually selling herself, and the answer was a clear no. But, it got me thinking about what I do.

I am an artist, and I believe that I am my art, and my art is me. What I create is a summation of all my experiences, thoughts, feelings, and actions. It’s a visual representation of who I am. While I know I am not selling myself when I put a price tag on my finished painting…I’m selling an object that hangs on a wall, I also still believe that my art is a visual representation of who I am.

My question is, can my art be me when I create it…but then disconnect from it being me when I sell it?
