Bringing my focus from the micro to the macro…

My husband and I have a farm where we grow cut flowers and cannabis. Both businesses are doing well and on a great trajectory. However, we are still working seven days a week, often 12-16 hours a day. The cannabis business has the option to make a lot more money and be less laborious. I mostly manage the flower farm aspect. Even though I have two part-time employees who work about 50 hours a week, I still have an endless to-do list. I need to focus some of my energy on the cannabis business and help my husband do some building projects that will help move that business forward but I have a hard time letting go of my focus on the flower farm and trying to maximize the amount of money the flowers bring in even though my life would be a lot easier if the cannabis aspect of the farm took off and we made a lot more money and I didn’t have to do so much physical labor. So I need to come up with a model that will help me take my foot off the gas of the flower farm and let go a little bit- I am a pleaser, perfectionist, want to look to the public like a successful business, etc. and focus on the other aspect of our business which has a much less public face. No one really knows that we also grow cannabis. The flower farm is the face of what we do so I think I am partially wrapped up in the perception of success with that business.
