Gathering A Group To Uncover Problems

Hello friend,

First off, thank you for your kind words (you love my passion – back at you!) and for answering my question about picking one thought when it comes to March Homework.

I am so happy that Jody reminded everyone of your other podcast “How to Become a Life Coach” and am working on defining my niche target. Since I am currently teaching to businesses and 1 to 1 private lessons, I would like to get very clear on “problems,” and was curious, if I wanted to set up a group of 20 people (kind of like a focus group) to see some of their challenges, gather data and in exchange offer them a complimentary class (since they are giving me their time and insights) how would you go about organizing something like this? I belong to a few wonderful communities (CrossFit, a woman’s studio) and of course teach at companies.

I might be answering my own question, but would you set up two days at both of these locations with my offer? If they give me 30 minutes to have this discussion, I will give them a 45 minute to 60 minute class? So, altogether 90 minutes of their time. Maybe I’ll go to Costco and supply some fruit (who doesn’t love free food?!)

Ultimately I would love to come away with a list of 3-5 of the same data points to help drive my program and marketing.

Thank you as always for your help and for helping to light a fire on this exciting work!
Brooke
