HOW TO BEST PLAN WHEN WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC AND THE UNEXPECTED


I’m struggling with using my planner – We own an automotive service business. Right now I am ALL the front office while understaffed. It’s hard to know when someone will randomly walk in with a question or a delivery driver will show up. Some days are unpredictable due to a faulty part, while in service finding another issue that requires more quoting, part sourcing and selling… How do you recommend planning for schedules that aren’t simply controlled by my actions and wants so that I can research and tackle the projects I as an owner must do – like the marketing around my website redesign and like projects? Those 2 hour breaks can be almost impossible some days and then I leave feeling unaccomplished or that my needs get back-burnered again…
