Life Coach or Business Coach?

By way of education I am clinical social worker and I’ve been in private practice for 10 years. I’ve always known I wanted to “help others” and social work was the perfect major for me to get started in that area. I began incorporating coaching into my sessions and for the last 7 years I’ve said “I’m going to start my own coaching business.” Well fast forward to present day, and I am working day in and out on making this happen! Yay!

What I am stuck on is, I feel that my expertise is really in business coaching because the majority of my clients, friends and family have always come to me with questions about business. It is typically around shifting their mindset and managing their anxiety, or coming up with ideas on starting a business, how to market etc. It feels natural to me when I provide feedback or guidance in this area, even though I am not personally in business. Now, I’ve never owned a business, I’ve been in private practice under supervision, but never my own, and I am wondering if it is better to start in the area of more general life coaching rather than jump out there with the title business coach? Thank you for your guidance!
