Life Insurance Niche, freebie and follow-up


Hi there,

I am a Financial Planner and help people with both money and Life insurance. For the purpose of marketing and Facebook ads I have decided to focus on the Life Insurance side of my business. I am generating lots of ideas to find a niche here. I have been thinking of targeting people without children – they would google “Do I need life insurance if I don’t have kids” or something like that. That is also my demographic.

The other piece would be location as I can only sell life insurance in the area my licence is active. I wouldn’t market to people outside of my location of course, but is location a good thing to use in your niche?

I’d also like to know your thoughts on a freebie…..Is a free quote a good idea as a freebie? I know that seems to be the way a lot of insurance brokers and my competitors etc….get your phone/ email address. How do you suggest a follow-up without feeling salesey? The life insurance industry where I am is still pretty “old school” and I love the idea of shaking things up a bit!
