Producing content in a template that reduces time|cost of graphic artist

I am very good at creating content but keep finding myself hitting an obstacle when I send it to the graphic artist to “make it pretty.” I notice that your book|workbooks are very simple and laid out in a way that is easy to use. The dilemma I have is that the editing process is time consuming when I have to use a graphic artist who is using Indesign a program that I don’t know and can’t edit myself. If the template was in word it would be very easy to edit but word is not the best software to use.

I would love to know what process you use for developing your content and then making it look good. Specifically, what software program and or templates do you use? Do you start in word and send the document to someone? Then how do you make edits?
