Hi there,
Glad to be using this tool for the first time! Thank you very much in advance for your answer.
I’m an art broker and launched my company in January 2021. I buy and sell artworks on behalf of my clients. I source artworks and sell them to clients that are looking for specific pieces. I spend days asking people from my expanded network, mostly art professionals, if they are looking to acquire anything or if they have anything for sale. I make money on commission and I am as good as the quality and prices of the artworks I’m being offered and I offer back. I sold two artworks in the first 6 months of my business (one for 250K and one for 3M) and got paid on commission.
I haven’t made a single sale since June and have been wondering about my offers since I joined Scholars. What exactly am I selling? Are my offers the artworks I am selling? Or is it my ability to find artworks to sell and clients willing to buy?
Again, since my audience target is the top end of the market, I rely on a few sales to make money. My earning is thus very unpredictable and I am not sure how I should continue moving forward as I would like more predictibility and a better understanding of my revenue stream.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!
