I asked Brooke on the Diamond call this month about accountability and have a follow up question.

In the September work, one of the questions we are asked is who will we be accountable to. Doesn’t that create a model where we are dependent on someone else for motivation?

I know that a lot of people don’t believe in their ability to do something so they look to someone or something to be accountable to so they’ll follow through.

So is the purpose for the question in the September work to help scholars who aren’t yet motivated by personal accountability (which I define as the ability to count on yourself)?

Or is there another reason for the question?
