Children vs. Adults

You always say that adults get to be who they are and we cannot control them.
The other day I saw a family sitting in a restaurant and one of the kids threw a temper tantrum.
The father was embarrassed and tried in any way to make the child sit quietly while the mother watched him completely unfazed.

When the father started throwing a temper tantrum at the mother’s tranquility, she said, ‘Let him be human. Let him be grumpy, moody, have an attitude. You and I have these feelings all the time. Why isn’t he allowed to have them?’

So when it comes to parenting, does it make sense to treat children tantrums like we would treat adults? – Let them throw their feat and be who they are?
