Habit breaking

Dear Brooke…I am trying to quit the habit of the over tv/drink/eat cycle I get into when I get home from work. Very stressful job and I find myself on the couch in “consumption mode” to relax and kill a couple of hours before bed. I have been somewhat successful at “sitting with my feelings” (I find I get half the week right) but am wondering if i should try a habit disruptor of getting out to yoga class after work (which is appealing to me – I am genuinely interested) which would get me home later (and therefore too late to start an overeat etc cycle). I have found in the past, that if I can disrupt a habit with a new one…that sometimes “takes” more quickly (therefore reducing the short-term harm – weight gain – of my current habit). Do you concur?
