Practicing New Thoughts

Would love to get more specificity in the A-line on this. There is a common instruction in SCS to “practice new thoughts.” When asked for more on this, I’ve understood and been told in one-on-one coaching that practicing new thoughts means writing the new thought down over and over, or put it on a sticky note or “visualize the new thought.” I’ve tried all three repeatedly, but wondering if there may be more to what seems like an important part of thought work. Is this all that’s offered in the way of practicing new thoughts? Perhaps I’m missing something or haven’t understood the process? Thanks in advance for your help on this.
