Pure circumstance

I just listened to this week’s podcast and it is totally my jam!

Jill Bolte Taylor is a Harvard trained brain specialist who had a stroke a number of years ago, completely losing the function of the left side of her brain; the side that processes language. She wrote the book “My Stroke of Insight” to describe what her experience was like before, during and after the stroke as well as her recovery of the functioning of the left side of her brain.

The way she described losing the ability to use language, it was “pure bliss”. It wasn’t even neutral as Brooke described; it was just being one with everything, with no judgment.

With a lack of words to label anything, everything just fascinated her. The way she initially picked up on things was by sensing the energy of a person or thing. Her famous quote is “Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space” because her healing process was much easier when people who came around her were bringing positive energy, rather than pity or worry or impatience.

I believe this is what Brooke was talking about in this podcast? Does that sound right?
