Who You Are Becoming

Brooke, you talk on episode #231 about people who don’t desire alcohol and how they think.
And you say that in order to start being that person, you have to not think about it like them.

But the learned thoughts of the desire have been learned and practiced for a long time for me. As you say about how the brain is wired, there is no chance they won’t show up tomorrow. It’s because my brain had practiced them for so long. So you cannot stop thinking about it immediately. Based on this podcast it’s as if you ignore the fact that there will be river of misery and two opposing thoughts at the same time.

Can you please explain?
