Is the daily weigh in on a scale always necessary?

How important is the using the daily scale? I’ve never been offended by my weight as a number, I just have a problem with how I look in the mirror. The actual number of pounds I weigh has been just circumstance to me, and I’m worried that if I start using a daily scale I’ll add the scale and pounds number to my already obsessive mindset about body image and food.
