50% Good, 50% Bad – Abraham Hicks Step 5

Hi Brooke,

Thank you for creating this wonderful program. I found you when you were on Jess Lively’s podcast a few years ago and I have enjoyed learning from you since. I’m signed up for the Life Coach School Online Program starting in October and I know this opportunity will be life changing for me. So excited!

My question is about your concept that life is 50% Good and 50% Bad. Like many people, when I first heard this idea, I resisted it. Now, I’m coming around to it more. I understand (and agree) that there are many things in life that we don’t like and that pushing against them, or trying to avoid the 50% Bad, actually only makes things worse. If we accept that the 50% Bad is part of life, then we don’t have to fight it.

This reminds me of what Abraham Hicks calls “Step 5.” You experience contrast, but you don’t have to label it as negative. The contrast is a vital part of expansion and we can find ease/alignment/peace in it.

If I put these two concepts together I think, “50% of life is contrast/unwanted, but we don’t have to call it ‘bad’ necessarily. It just is.”

I am wondering, what connection/overlap/similarities do you see between the two concepts? Am I still resisting the 50% bad by trying to relabel it? I would very much appreciate it if you could elaborate on how the 50/50 Rule and Step 5 work (or don’t work) together.

Thanks so much!
