All the way through

Dear coaches,
in podcast 29.how to feel, Brooke talks about the importance of not being in a hurry when feeling feelings/avoid rushing into changing the underlying thought too quickly but instead “feel it all the way through”. Do you have any thoughts on what can be useful indicators of the moment when the feeling has been felt “all the way through”. How does one know that enough time was spent sitting with the feeling/describing the feeling/allowing the feeling? How do I identify when my brain tries to trick me into drowning in a feeling to avoid action? Or does my brain just try to avoid the feeling first?
