Allowing Wants?

I’ve noticed I’ve been using Thought Work against myself in the sense that I find it difficult to have wants. Another Ask The Coach response said “Managing your thoughts doesn’t mean you have to choose to like everything.” This is exactly my struggle. I find myself not trusting or allowing my wants or likes because I think I should simply change them since I can with TW. Anytime I think of something I do or don’t want I immediately question it and start trying to analyze and model it.
