Am I using existing skills or avoiding discomfort ?

I really need your input!
Am I avoiding discomfort on purpose by deciding to focus my business on an activity i know am good at and have credibility + fun (litigation attorney) rather than trying to develop it in a field i wanted to increase my skills by joining a new law firm 4 months ago (legal counsel) ?
My goal for this month is to get a new client.
I feel more capable of marketing myself and my work in litigation rather than in counsel activities. As i have more experience in litigation i feel more legitimate and am more efficient than in counsel. I also have more fun in litigation activities. Is it beacause i am used to it (comfort) oris it an asset it is ok to exploit and develop ?
Thanks for your help !
