Anxiety in social settings


I have experienced social anxiety for most of my life. In the past, I’ve accepted this as part of who I am and I just have to “endure” it. At a gathering, I become anxious that I won’t be able to initiate or sustain a conversation with someone and they will think I’m boring etc. I realize now that this is crap thinking and I can change my thoughts. My question is, by doing the model on a regular basis around my anxiety, can I “cure” this social anxiety or is it something that I will continue to have to work on forever?
