Apathy and Self Care

It was intersting to do this months work on the Apathy podcast and recognize there is a lack of caring for even self once apathy hits. As we move away from buffering or at least recognize the urge to buffer, does the ability to recognize apathy and need for self care come quicker than if we give in to buffering? My quesion really is to figure out how can we get on the front end of apathy and making sure we are not giving up on loving our selves?
