Are feelings always caused by thoughts?

Is it a fact that thoughts create feelings? Is there any situation where that isn’t true besides a physical interaction of some sort? I have a friend that is a therapist who insists that you can have feelings first and she sees the model as formulaic and not always useful. She is a very physically oriented person and tends to get really trapped in feelings, but it has me wondering if there is any validity to her opinion. My actual therapist totally agrees with the thoughts create feelings model, and she is more of a solution focused therapist. I wonder if a thought like a core belief is just so ingrained and automatic that one doesn’t even recognize it as a thought. I’m in CCP so I am very curious about the answer! Thanks!
