Are Preferences Limitations?

In one of the webinars (“How to feel good”) Brooke mentions that she is not good at managing people. She will send out emails telling people what to do without smalltalk. Is she arguing for her limitations here? Could she change her thoughts to feel that she is good at managing people?

I am bringing this up because I want to understand this better.

I have areas where I tell myself, “I am not good at this.” After listening to Brooke I am reevaluating my current mindset. The question is: If we can use the model to do anything do preferences mean anything? Suppose I want to teach subjects that the market is not interested in. Do I stick to my preferences or do I change my thoughts to start liking the subjects there is market demand for?
