We are currently on a year long road trip with our 4 kids, visiting all 50 states, and documenting our journey on video as we go. As we’ve traveled many common themes about humanity keep surfacing. One is that every community that is thriving and contributing to a greater whole, got that way through the hard work, determination, sacrifice, and funding of its citizens. My question: sometimes I feel like I want to be “that woman” who is the big contributor, and gave all to make her community kick ass. Other times I feel like I would have to do so (I.e. Put forth amazing amounts of effort/time/money) at the expense of my sanity and my family’s welfare. How do you know if it’s “worth it” to push yourself to achieve greatness?
