I enjoyed organizing my closet! What is your advice to help me think more productive thoughts to get me to take action on home maintenance projects in which I can’t see immediate progress?
I like to see immediate results from tasks such as painting or mopping (only if it’s dirty). I don’t like projects that tend to snowball in taking up my time and don’t show progress, such as checking finances or ironing from a mountain of a pile.
My recurring thoughts seem to be “I don’t have time for that. That’s going to take more time than it first seems. Completing that project won’t produce good memories-it’s mundane. I can’t make a dent in that pile. I’m a person who lives life to the fullest and these other options I can choose to do with my time fulfill that value.”
