Is balance a myth? Should I even strive for it?

I started a new job and it’s taking a lot of my time, attention, and brain space. I feel like my highest priority, my family, is kind of suffering. I feel guilty and want to find more balance. Even when I’m not working, I’m thinking about working. Any suggestions for managing my mind when not at work? I want to just turn off my “work brain” and be present with my family, but it’s hard.

I see my thoughts that are the problem:
My family is suffering because of my new job.
I feel guilty.
It’s hard to turn off thoughts about work.

They all feel very true though.
