Being emotional

Hi coaches,
When I talk about things that are important for me and that I have problems with or if someone is pointing out a problem in my life, I become emotional very quickly and cry.
My question is about processing emotion: is crying a reacting or a processing kind of action ?
Even though crying is not a bad thing for me and I know that it is related to my ability to experience any emotion, not only negative ones, there are situations in which I don’t want to but it’s kind of out of my control thing. I know that I have the ability of controlling that but for now I haven’t found how to do it. Thank you for any suggestion you could give me.
