Belief in the model

So I’ve been struggling with the belief in the model for while now. I found tlcs several years ago. I used the model successfully in the beginning. But the more I did work on intentional models, the more my belief wavered. My brain wanted to know why, so I started looking at the most recent research of mental health.

I know the model is rooted in CBT, which is really helpful for a lot of things. But the whole concept of changing our thoughts is a short-term fix to a long-term problem. The model helps me shift my perception but I know we can’t control our thoughts 100% of the time and spending time doing so can be a fool’s errand if we completely rely on that. Even the idea of living in intentional models isn’t realistic because we feel bad 50% of the time, as Brooke says.

So my question is this: How can I use the model to accept my emotional live without relying on it to help me “feel better”?
