Brain off

I am doing intermittent fasting, on my third week, and am my brain is working very slowly in the morning (fasting period). Takes me a LOONNGG time to think of a word I intend to say, to make decisions, solve problems (example: if this child has to be here at this time and that committment has to be there at that time, what time makes the most sense for me to reserve an exercise class) etc. Within 20 minutes of eating, my acuity returns.

Ideas? Solutions? (Caffeine leads to heart palpitations for me, so “more coffee” is not the answer.) Thank you!
