Can looking to the past be helpful?

Hi Brooke and team. I’m trying to come up with thoughts I can practice on purpose when I feel anxiety and overwhelm. One of the things I was just telling myself is “I can do this. I have done way harder things in the past.” This helped me put my current anxiety about today’s to-do list in perspective. But, I wonder if this is a good practice, given how you say *not* to look to the past for answers about the future? I want to make sure I’m not going to create a habit that ultimately doesn’t serve me. Thanks for your help!
