Catching my negative thinking

Hi there! I’m new to SCS and am LOVING IT!

Right now when I’m getting a negative thought, I’m starting to learn to catch myself, and I say in my head, “NOPE! Nope, nope, nope. We’re not going there.” Is that a good practice? I’m sort of scolding myself, and I’m not sure if that counts as resisting and not allowing. Thank you!
