Changing a circumstance

I know they recommend to learn to be happy in any circumstance. That our thoughts create our feelings. But I always get tripped up —-

This was an answer in SCS for someone relating to Job — but what if the circumstance was Abuse, addiction, codependency or total dysfunction.

“Response: To prove to your brain that circumstances don’t create feelings.
Because you will take your brain, and your thinking patterns, with you to the new circumstance.

Deciding to change your circumstance from contentment rather than escape is powerful.

We believe these are powerful lessons that will serve you in every area of your life. Especially because not every circumstance can be changed. Having said that, changing a circumstance, when it can be changed, is always an option and it’s up to you when and if you decide to do that.”
