I’m coaching a friend on weight loss.
She “tried it before” with me and stopped because it didn’t go the way she wanted.
Then I just offered a few tips, but it wasn’t a real coaching relationship.
She has come back.
She remembers and follows some of the protocol from before.
We had our first meeting yesterday.
Here are my questions:
1. She has her 1st meal 10:30/11:00 a.m.
Protein Shake at 3:00 p.m.
Dinner 5:30/6:00 p.m.
She’s adamant about keeping the Protein Shake and says that she needs it to hold her so she doesn’t overeat at dinner.
I asked her to be open to changes.
How should I address the 3 p.m. shake that she has a deep belief about and says that she is not going to eliminate it?
2. Re: removing all flours
She was saying that she eats chick pea flour/red lentil flour.
I told her that I would check because I forgot. Is it that ALL flours are removed because they are considered “concentrated” food?
Are all kinds a flours no matter the make up to be removed? Including Pasta made from red lentil flour, e.g.?
3. Her weight goal
Her goal is 145.
135 was the lowest she ever was (in her 20’s/30’s) She’s in her mid 50’s.
“135 is too low. I didn’t look or feel good at that weight.”
I know Brooke likes them to go lower to bring up all their “stuff.”
Is it necessary to “push” them to a lower weight goal than they have in mind?
I know for me because of my age, if I get too low, my face looks gaunt so I have found a good weight, which is actually about what I weighed in high school!
I’m 67 now.
Thank you very much!
