Coaching people who don’t agree that thoughts precede feelings

Hi, I have a client who can’t identify with the idea that feelings come from thoughts. She’s adamant that there are no thoughts.

Personally, I completely believe that thoughts come first. Our theoretical differences don’t annoy me but I need to approach the problem in a way that allows me to come up with some alternative ways of working with her, or to work with her resistance in a way that’s helpful to her and not just an ideological loggerhead.

My thought is that “it’s actually really difficult to coach someone who doesn’t agree on the basic principles” and that “she doesn’t let me coach her”.

Your help truly appreciated. Thanks!
