Competing Thoughts


I cycle between two competing thoughts about work. I am the head of a division at a company and planned to stay in this role until the end of 2021 when my husband and I would like to “retire” and pursue more flexible work.

On the one hand, I want to see my job as easy and balanced so I can feel relaxed > produce B-work > and have a good work/life/balance until I transition out.

On the other hand, I want to give it my all > feel motivated > produce A+ work > Lead the company to its full potential (It’s “all”).

Each seems to lead to contradictory actions and different results.

Do I just decide which path/perspective on work I want to take?
