Cultivating desire for change

Reporting back after live coaching with Brooke on last VIP call:

I was explaining how I can’t generate desire or interest in anything. How I have a plan for a day of tasks and activities I think I would want to do, but never stick to it. She told me to rearrange my whole morning routine in a way that felt very unnatural and awkward.

I did and I had a revelation: I can get my brain excited about being uncomfortable and doing hard things just for the sake of change. I always thought the hard things had to be things I cared about. What I can care about now is doing it BECAUSE it is hard. This cuts out all the backtracking into doubt–like changing my mind that I actually even want to do the things I planned.

Basically, I tricked my brain into wanting to do exactly what it resists!
