Decision to love my job and be the best at it

Hi Brooke & Coaches,

It’s not a question but a win I’d like to share. I have a part-time job on the side of doing my business. I used to just turn up, clock watch for 8 hours and then go home, hating every minute of it. I took the job because it was easy and I was just biding my time until I ‘would quit and just do my business’. That was 2 years ago.

After listening to you say it time after time, I decided I was going to love my part-time job no matter what and be the best at it. I also put my hand up for things way out of my paygrade because I can easily do them. That was about 3 months ago.

I have been far more engaged, I do more challenging work, I stepped up and became a leader in a lot of aspects and most importantly my days fly by now and I feel accomplished at the end of the day. To top it off, I had a meeting with my director on Wednesday about my performance at work and all the reviews were glowing. She was very impressed and has had amazing feedback from colleagues and executives. She said it’s an absolute joy to work with me and wishes everyone would be like this. She also checked out my website and asked if I would be interested to bring some of that into the workplace. 🙂

Now on to putting just as much commitment into my business and build it up so I can have the exact same feelings there and quit my job when I am ready. There is a lot of work in that area but I know I can do it.

So, thank you for lifting the veil on this for me. I definitely was blind to it before I heard you say it (I had to hear it about 50 times). 6 months in scholars and this is a HUGE uplevel for me. :))
