Similar to the caller on the last live call, I’m facing a decision that would move my child again. If I understood, Brooke says it’s not about finding the right decision, it’s about making the decision right because there is “no such thing as a right decision” (ie the only thing that makes it right is our thoughts about it). That said, I’ve learned that there’s research on the effects of multiple moves on children; longitudinal studies that report evidence of adverse psychological effects in adulthood. Is the suggestion to dismiss this research (ie. consider it a story in my mind and not reality) and to rely exclusively on my thoughts about this decision (ie believing hard). In other words, is the recommendation that I determine the “rightness” of any decision, irrespective of “evidence” in research results?
