I am in month 5 of SCS and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that my mind is a crazy mess! I mean, I knew it was, but I am constantly amazed at how much WORK this work truly is. My focus is on the Stop Overeatting portion of your work but I find the other sections equally amazing and helpful and do as many of the monthly assignments as I can. Am I making progress? Honestly, sometimes I’m unsure. And then I have to remind myself that I’m still trying so that means, YES, I am making progress.
My question is this. SO many times, I find myself trying to identify an emotion or catch the thought behind it but there are so many coming so fast that the urge is to simply turn to food. And quick!! 🙂 Can you help me identify some temporary “emergency” thoughts that I can use as a default for times when the thoughts and emotions are coming in faster than I can analyze and process them?
So far I’ve played with these but neither seem to quite the do the trick:
Well, this is interesting.
Be still.
Thanks in advance,
Lydia
