Diet Trauma, Body, and the Model

Dear Lovely Coaches.

I am a health coach and started by business 6 years ago. 1 year into my business, at that time I was about 150lbs.

I wasn’t aware of my “people-pleasing” tendencies and followed a strict diet using willpower to push through because my friends told me that as a health coach I “should” be thinner. I stayed on that diet for almost a year and didn’t lose much weight (about 10lbs throughout the year)

Then suddenly, I started getting all sorts of health issues and allergies and the following year, I gained almost 50lbs because of the meds I had to take and overeating because I got depressed. After going to a lot of doctors, the explanation for that sudden massive weight gain, is that my body became physically hyper-stressed and reacted by adding weight as a safety mechanism.

I have been in Scholars now for almost 18 months and through this journey, I have made fantastic progress in terms of accepting myself as I am and dealing with my emotions and fears without eating.
Now I am at 195lbs and I am ready to lose weight.

I need help with my models that are not helping me take action towards weight loss, noting that what I think is my problem is eating bigger portions. I have successfully managed emotional eating and no longer use food for comfort.
