Difference between replacing thoughts and creating useful feelings


I understand that it’s important not to try and just replace thoughts before accepting the feelings that they create. However, is it okay to try and create new, helpful thoughts at the same time as working on accepting the current ones? Ie have two models running at the same time, an intentional one and and unintentional one?

I’m keen to try some intentional models but wary of just using them to avoid my existing negative feelings.
