Some spiritual thinkers like Eckhart Tolle believe that true happiness comes from beyond the thinking mind, to a person’s inner essence or consciousness. I am wondering how this fits in with thought work where you create happiness from your thoughts.
The concept of experiencing pain (feeling the vibrations, allowing the feelings to flow through without resistance) fits in with this concept as you are allowing your present experience to be as it is. But I wonder how it fits in when you are working with thoughts as he would say that thoughts are part of the ego mind, whereas who we really are is not our thoughts. Perhaps the person who is separating thoughts from story is this inner self he talks about, but then I am curious about using thoughts to feel better vs practicing to reach a place where we find our selves beyond thoughts and in just consciousness.
Are his teachings compatible with thought work?
Thank you so much for all your hard work and insights. I am loving this work so much!
