Emotions exercise

My question:
After listening to this month’s trainings, I find it interesting that I intellectually understand why we’d want to experience negative emotion. But, as I created my negative and indulgent list, I started experiencing panic at the thought of creating these feelings and experiencing them, even though it’s part of the human experience .

Is there a way to feel them for a second and then train my brain to quickly convert the negative emotion to neutral? I would not have a problem not experiencing grief and sitting at a funeral accepting, solemn , and neutral .

Problem is I unfortunately found that when I am neutral about something, I start not feeling the highs of the positive sides.

Any suggestions on how to reconcile the above? Ty
