Facts, Thoughts, Feelings – Thoughts on Brooke’s Happiness Lesson today

No matter how we feel — or think — facts are facts. I don’t aspire to happiness, I aspire to understand facts.

I don’t understand the advice to change a thought when it doesn’t feel good. What does it matter if it feels good or not? I don’t choose my thoughts by how they feel emotionally. I choose my thoughts by how likely they are to be factual and true. In my view changing thoughts just to “feel better” is immoral.

Then, I ask myself “what am I making this mean?” if I find the fact is upsetting.

Is this outside of what the Life Coach School teaches? I thought I was aligned but when I listen to coaching and have gotten coached I find Scholars are directed to changing their description of circumstances, even if is true.
