Finding new thoughts


Hi there,

The model I’ve found this morning goes like this;

C – Partner said we don’t listen to each other
T – I can’t get anything right for him
F – Mad
A – Storm off, get defensive, sulk, leave him alone, try and control him, doubt myself
R – I can’t get anything right for him, or myself

I get that the thought is causing my feeling. I want to have some new thoughts to practice but the ones I’ve come up with feel a bit forced right now.

– I’m trying my best
– I won’t get it right all of the time and sometimes I’ll fail
– He’s right, we’re not always listening to one another

None of these really feel any better than the old unintentional model.
