Finding the truth in "I can do whatever I want"

I’ve been doing the exercise where you think of the feelings and thoughts you’ll have when you get what you want. And then practicing those thoughts now instead of waiting ’til you reach your goal to let yourself believe them.

One of these thoughts for me is “I can do whatever I want”.

I keep trying it on and I believe it often, which is a lot of fun. But sometimes it comes up against my not quitting my job.  It goes something like this:
“I can do whatever I want… sure, except quit my job. If I could do whatever I wanted, I’d quit my job.”

I feel like I can’t quit because I can’t make money without it. I see that this is a thought, also, but obviously I still strongly believe it right now.

I’d love your advice on untangling this a bit.
